December 20, 2006: Signed with local agency to complete homestudy and begin working on homestudy paperwork.
January 12, 2007: Turn in applications for passports.
January 24: Interviews with social worker for homestudy.
January 30: Home visit by social worker for homestudy.
February 16: Homestudy completed.
February 21: Go to department of homeland security to complete I-600A (application to bring orphan into the country) and fingerprinting.
February 23: Received dossier documents from Bless This Child (agency we are using for Russian adoption) to begin working on.
March 1: Received Passports.
March 7: Received I-171H, approval to bring an orphan into the country.
March 28: Our dossier is finished after a month of gathering background checks, letters from Dr's, employment verification, pictures, and much more. Go to Topeka and downtown KC, MO to recieve apostilles (state seal) on all dossier documents.
March 30: Mail dossier to Bless This Child.
April 11: Our dossier goes to Russia with a family traveling there.
Now we wait for a referral (picture of child and a medical record).......................
