Beginning of Day 3 in Abakan

We had a good nights sleep, but couldn't sleep past 5:30, still a good 6 hours. We did our daily ritual of reading your blog comments (so reassuring!), then ate breakfast at 7:30. Breakfast was a little different today because they didn't have 2 choices as they had previously (we were just ordering 1 of each and eating what we could). We had to order straight from the waitress who doesn't speak English. We pointed to the menu from yesterday and she drew an "X" through the menu. Luckily we had brought our Russian phrase book. We looked at the food section in the book together and picked out omlette's with sausage...we all three laughed together as we tried to translate what we wanted to eat. Gotta run because Alya is picking us up shortly to do some quick shopping to kill some time before going to lunch at 12:00pm and then court at 2pm.

note: we updated the post below with an additional pic of the stroller & jacket for Gavin.

We are heading to bed and can't wait to hear about your day today....tomorrow:) Love the jacket and stroller:) It is so good to hear from you both and be able to keep in touch day to day. I am glad you both got at least 6 hours sleep. That is a good chunk...and is better than some people get here at home...not me, I need 7:) I love Theresa's quote and hope you keep that in mind as you go through court today. I also suggest controlled breathing when nervous... it helps me when I am nervous:):) Gavin is sooooooo lucky and blessed.

Shannon- I just wanted to tell you that you look positively radiant! I am so emotional for both of you, and Gavin is absolutely beautiful, amazing, perfect. Can't wait to hear about the rest of your journey and to hear when you are all safely home!

Vivid descriptions and great photos of your journey which I and Joyce enjoy reading and discussing. Gavin looks like he's ready to travel. When we wanted to order beef, (bif), we mooooo..ed, or, flapped our wings for chicken in Moscow and that worked pretty good with a laugh. (Our only 2 choices at one of the hotels we stayed at when we first went there). Continue enjoying the experience with a safe journey. - Roman

WOW! What an exciting adventure you have had so far! I'm not exactly sure what time it is there and if you have been to court yet but I am praying for all 3 of you that everything goes very smoothly. I am 100% confident that you guys will be awesome! All of the pictures of Gavin are so adorable! You already look like such a happy family! Gavin is the luckiest little boy in the world! And from what I hear about him, you guys lucky too! :-) Can't wait to read more! I gotta figure out this time difference thing so I know when to read up again!

Ahhhh! This waiting's killing me. By my calculations it is 9:30 p.m. in Russia. While I'm sure you guys have had a whirlwind day, here we sit waiting for any scrap of news. It reminds me of a father in a waiting room smoking cigaretts waiting to find out if its a boy or a girl. We know that...we just need to know if he's yours yet!

We agree with with pam. Anxiously awaiting the news from court. We hope and pray everything went well for you and your family.

I'm going to get in trouble today for being on the blog so much. I keep hitting refresh. I don't want to miss the news. I hope you didn't decide to go to bed early tonight. I don't think I can wait until your morning.
