Beginning of Day 4 in Abakan

We woke up this morning again, but this time it felt like it was Christmas. Shannon and I still woke up at 5am or so, and waited for Gavin to wake. Gavin woke up at 6:40am. Shannon (who slept with him) says he slept really good. We fed him breakfast in our room...porridge and yogurt. We got him dressed and came down to eat our breakfast. I had a cabbage salad, meatballs w/cream sauce and rice...Shannon had crepes with cream inside, and hard boiled eggs with a mayonnaise sauce, and muffin. Then we took him outside for a walk in the stroller. Alya will be calling us here in an hour to see if we need anything. We may go shopping in a center nearby. At 2pm we will pick up his Russian passport. This will be our last full day in Abakan, we leave tomorrow morning at 9:00am for Moscow. Also, I forgot to mention that Gavin will actually have dual citizenship, a decision we made. All for now!
Here are some more pics from this morning:

Hi Guys! He is absolutely adorable. You guys make a perfect family, and we are so happy for you and Shannon. We are also so happy for Gavin because he is extremely fortunate to have a mommy & daddy like you two.

Kristin and I showed Jack the pics earlier and he can't wait to meet Gavin and is really excited for your return. Even Nicholas was walking around the house saying "Gabben, Gabben".

Hope you all had a great day today with him...we can't wait to see more pics!

Wow! What a handsome boy! I can just tell that he and Luke will be best friends! I love that shirt...I seem to remember picking it out with you at the Gap and debating over sizes...glad to see it fits well! By the way, I CRIED at work when I read the blog post from yesterday. I was pretty embarrassed since I am not a crier, but decided that I really didn't give a hoot. I am just so happy for you all that I could care less that you turned me into an emotional wreck. :) Everyone at work says that he is such a cutie pie. I posted everything up on the cabinets like I did the last time. You know that we have some seriously technology-challenged people there.

Keep 'em coming. I love to read the posts and am liking my new status as "the emotional one" in the staff office!

PS--NAEYC came Wednesday. It was a STRESSFUL few day of prep. Came in on the WEEKEND to help out. Not fun :(

What did we do before computers? What a treat to feel only a fraction of the joy and emotion the three of you have to be experiencing. Your bond with the Russian people in such a short time will be so memorable. I don't think they've heard the last of Gavin Victor All! Your dual citizenship decision was a good one.

You have lived the will to be parents, now with that comes the joy, the determination, the giving of your life to parenting. You two just kicked it into a higher gear you didn't even know you had.

We see you Americanized that boy real quick - Levi's. Give Gavin a hug for us.

Congratulations!!!! Of all the miracles God gives us, adoption is surely one of the very sweetest. We are so happy and excited for you, and are eager to meet Gavin. He and Nate will have to get together and hang out once Gavin gets home and feels settled there. Please keep the photos coming. You look like such naturals as parents...you have waited a long time for this chapter in your lives, savor every blissful moment of it!

I keep looking at each picture trying to take in each detail. I have done this several times today.
I know you are out shopping but hope you come home with a Siberian hat with ears that the little ones wear. As everyone has written, the three of you look and are family. It was a hard journey to get there, but an instant one to be family. Love, Mom

Congratulations to the new parents and GRANDPARENTS. Thank you both for sharing your wonderful experiences and feelings with us as they are happening. Aaron, you've got the ball now, baby! Wishing you all the best, and you may learn more Russian words from Gavin before you know it! With his smile, you may be moved up to first class on the way home.

The pictures of the completeness of your family is apparent even without the words you have written. Once again, thanks for sharing these moments with all of us. I rushed to work this morning so I could check the blog first thing. I have been wondering since last night how your first night went. It sounds like everything is going perfect. How could it not with that sweet, beautiful little boy. He has the smile of an angel. Enjoy your time with him just the two of you because when you get home you are definitely going to have to share him. I am sooo happy for both of you.
