After breakfast Alya, Shannon, and I went shopping for an hour nearby. I bought a pair of Russian made dress shoes and a winter coat. We came back and Alya helped us order some lunch here at the hotel. It was our most normal meal yet, I had breaded chicken breast and Shannon had mashed potatoes and some kind of ground beef patty...both very good. Gavin shared off our plates, he had some mashed potatoes a muffin, and a few other things I'm forgetting at the moment. He only had a 1 hour nap before Alya & Oleg came back to take us to get his Russian passport & birth certificate finalized. We stopped at government locations for both items, signed many forms, etc.
It's funny to see the red Russian passport with a picture of a pouting pouting baby. After that we relaxed in the hotel room some more and had room service for dinner. We took Gavin for few walks in the stroller, this time venturing further from our hotel area to the main street nearby. There is a wedding reception in our hotel restaurant tonight, we saw some kind of ceremony taking place before they went inside. Shannon is feeding Gavin a bottle of milk in the extra room right now getting him ready for bed. We will wake a 6:00am be ready to leave by 7:00am, leave Abakan by 9:00am and land in Moscow by 10:00am (4 hour timezone change going west). In Moscow we will need to visit the Russian Consulate and the American Embassy to finish the process.
We'll post some videos in Moscow since we'll be able to connect in our room. That's about it for today and I need to get upstairs to pack, so we won't post again until tomorrow evening from Moscow...i think that would be Friday morning KC time for the next post. Dosvadonya.

It is Friday morning in KC with this post. I think you will be in Moscow Friday evening KC time....or maybe Saturday morning. Gavin is soooooo cute! He looks sooo happy and so do you both. Every pic is a huge beaming smile from all of you. Take care and I hope your flight is smooth. Love you and god bless!

I really hope I don't get fired due to my lack of productivity here at work lately. I have read, re-read, and re-read these stinking blog posts and comments over and over. I am ADDICTED! I read, cry, read some more, cry some more....and then when I am NOT reading, I am chatting with co-workers and talking about your touching story with all of my friends (or anyone who pretends to be interested in what I have to say):-) here at work. I'm basically as worthless as I can possibly be! Who cares! Being able to share this miracle with you guys is TOTALLY WORTH IT! Thanks for taking time out of your crazy busy day to update all of us over here in America! I am so proud of you guys! Miss you!
Gavin is adorable! Can't wait to meet him in person. What a wonderful family you make! Have a safe flight to Moscow. Love reading all about your journey.

AMAZING!! We are so touched by all that you are experiencing and so happy for you AND Gavin.
We'll need a canoe to get around the city with all the crying you're causing!
Thank you for allowing us to share your journey - Enjoy Moscow!
Hey, guess what? It is supposed to be 45 degrees here in the morning (Saturday)! Same temperature as it is where you are! Crazy huh....and Whitney has a 10:30am soccer game although it should be in the low 50's by that time....uggh! The weather channel says it will be a high of 85 on the Friday and Saturday when you get back:) That will make for a nice day running around in the back yard:) Hope you are staying warm over there in your new coats:) Love you:)
It is wonderful to follow your trip. Our prayers are with all of you for a safe, happy trip home. We are all anxious to get aquainted with your little jewel.
I just woke up and didn't want to get out of bed because it is so cold this morning. Then I thought about the blog and jumped up to see if it had been updated. I'm wearing out the refresh button. I keep hoping you will post while I am online. I can't wait to see videos. I'm so glad Aaron is so computer literate. Yesterday I had my Rusian friend come to my desk and look at the blog. She translated the video from when you were leaving the orphanage. She said Gavin looked so much happier when he was with you then when you first took pictures of him on the last trip. She said he was blessed to have a life now with both of you. Well, I'll keep checking and waiting patiently for the update today. I hope you are all enjoying each other and Galvin is still showing that beautiful smile.
He is absolutely BEAUTIFUL!Thank you for sharing your story... it is just so... perfect and wonderful!
Love,
Joei
Congratulations! Your son is adorable. What a wonderful journal of your trip. And the books about Abakan...priceless. We'll be asking you to share the names of those in the future. Hope you enjoy the rest of your time in Moscow and have a safe flight home. Remember to ask for the bulkhead seats when you check in for the international flight, they were a life saver for us, using the bassinet.
Again Congrats!

There are so many people praying for you. Incuding our church. We continue to bring you up at Sunday services during Joys and Concerns. The congregation is always anxious to hear of your adventure and continue to pray for your new family.
Well, it is Saturday and I have shopping to do. Hopefully you'll have something posted by the time I get back.
It's been very cool to read how things have been going over the last week. I can't wait to meet Gavin when you all get home. Have a safe trip.
