Leaving for Abakan tonight

We listened to the Chiefs game on the web last night in our hotel room, although I wished we hadn't now based on how they played. Our sleeping patterns are way off, this morning we woke up at 4 am because we couldn't sleep any longer....we checked the internet and watched TV until 7am. We went to breakfast at coffee mania at 7:30, we split an omelette and a side of sausages. Shannon ordered an apple juice and milk...but when she got the apple juice it was GREEN...when the waiter came by she said to the waiter 'APPLE JUICE' (annunciating her words)...and he said 'FRESH'...it was actually pure squeezed juice from a granny smith apple, imagine that. It was actually very good, although it better have been for $12. And, her $8 milk was served hot, but was good too. I wasn't paying attention to the ruble cost of what she was ordering. We came back and caught up on more sleep until 1pm. We're getting ready to check out now, and go tour the Kremlin. We will need to kill time the rest of the day until Luda and the driver picks us up at 8pm, to leave for an 11pm flight. It's a 4+ hour flight to Abakan, and we gain 4 more hours of timezone (Moscow is 9 hours ahead of KC, and Abakan is 13 hours ahead). So we should land around 8:30am Abakan time, and our jetlag will become even worse than it is now. When we get there Oleg and the new translator will pick us up from the airport, take us to the hotel...and we will finally get to see Gavin, we can't wait. We're a little weary of the flight tonight (on Vladivlostok Airlines), but will get through it. Hopefully our next post, we will have a picture of Gavin.

So happy for you two. I finally got to see the ultrasound which was very touching (and obvious there will be and Allette). Can't wait to see Gavin and hear the first stories of parenthood. Good Luck with everything- Lori

Sounds like things going pretty good. Will be anxious to see another picture of Gavin. This all seems so overwhelming to me, but must be wonderful for you two. God be with you until you get home.

Although we haven't posted before, both Debbie and I are avid readers and have been following your progress. We know that this trip is about Gavin and we are excited, but could you shoot one picture of Shannon sideways, without luggage in front of her or anything in her hands so we can see how big she's getting with the other baby? Just asking. Looking forward to your trip to Bloomington so we can see everyone face to face. Next year this will be a wonderful memory and you won't even remember all the obstacles it took to get here. Love Pam
